How much water does it hold?
The Trail Hound holds enough water for a full day's hike with your dog. The crystal-clear body lets you monitor the water level at all times so you always know when to refill.
Does water actually go back in — or does it spill?
Yes, it genuinely retracts. The bottle is designed so that when you release the squeeze, suction pulls leftover water back in from the bowl tray. The only thing that leaves the bottle is what your dog actually drinks.
Is it really leak-proof in a backpack?
100%. The twist-lock cap creates a watertight seal. You can throw it sideways in a bag, toss it in a car cup holder, or clip it to a pack — it will not drip. Hundreds of hikers use this as their daily trail bottle.
How do I clean it?
Rinse with warm water and a drop of dish soap after each use. The bottle opening is wide enough for a standard bottle brush. Fully air-dry before storing. Do not put in the dishwasher — hand wash only to preserve the seal.
What size dogs is it for?
The Trail Hound works for all dog sizes. The bowl tray is sized generously for medium and large dogs, and smaller dogs can drink comfortably with slightly less pressure applied to the squeeze.
